Directors and Management fully support the principles of openness, integrity and accountability set out in the Combined Code on Corporate Governance and in accordance with generally accepted principles of Best Corporate Practice. Accordingly the Society’s Board of Directors are responsible for maintaining a system of internal control, which provides reasonable assurance that the Company has effective and efficient operations, internal financial controls and complies with laws and regulations.

Management of the Company vests in the Executive Management, with the Board of Directors playing the oversight role.  The board meets on a quarterly basis at board meetings and reserves to itself a range of key decisions to ensure that it retains proper direction and control of the Company. The non- executive directors bring a wealth of experience from their own fields of business and ensure that the debate on matters of strategy, policy, progress and performance is robust, informed and constructive.
